BB King, Master Blues Guitarist Dies Age 89
Today we have lost an absolutely legendary guitarist. BB King, brilliant blues musician and a heavy influence in world of blues and rock, was reportedly put in home hospice 2 weeks ago suffering from dehydration, passing away Thursday night (May 14 2015). His reign as ‘King of Blues’ lasted over 6o years and his music helped shape many genres and guitar play styles prevalent today.
BB King Ranked #6 on ‘s (Previously number 3 in the 2003 edition) and #17 in ‘s ‘Top 50 Guitarist’s of All Time’
Chairman and CEO of Gibson Brand, Henry E JuszKiewicz is quoted as saying: “We are sad that the world has lost a person who brought great joy and enriched our lives through his music and his many live performances. He was truly a King of the Blues. While we can no longer see him playing, his legacy of music lives on. We send our condolences to his family.” Likewise, we at TMR are sad to see such a brilliant and influential man go. He will be greatly missed, is totally irreplaceable and we wish his family all the best.
