SFest 2014 Announces Co-Headliners
SF Media, SF Media TV and RTD Records is proud to announce the co-headliners for the first SFest 2014. Industrial powerhouse DARKC3LL (Brisbane) and Industrial metal machine WITCHGRINDER (Melbourne) will co-headline SFest at Hermanns Bar in Sydney on Saturday 12th April 2014.
DARKC3LL closed off an amazing 2013 with the release of their second album, Dark Verses (RTD Records) to critical acclaim worldwide. In support of the album, the band completed a successful national tour in October and November 2013 and Australian support to Otep.
More than just a latecomer to the industrial horror-rock party, Darkc3ll have now emerged as a fully-formed monster with a distinct identity (while paying due homage to their influences) and raw, barely-controlled power that is irresistibly infectious. Gregory Burkart, Fearnet
Darkc3ll are dark and sublime, comparative to the sound of a fine whiskey hitting ice; tempting, refreshing, full of anticipation and possibility and most importantly full of flavour. The stage melted and twisted with heat; the vapour of imminent success with the punters was spilling out of vocalist Jesse Dracman as he showed the crowds no mercy with a set list teetering on superlative. Their biggest strength? Their ability to entertain and their veracity to do so, capturing punters like a fly in a web. Carrie Gibson, Metal As Fuck
WITCHGRINDER had an equally successful 2013, releasing their debut album The Demon Calling (RTD Records) followed by a national tour and Australian support to Wednesday 13.
Overall, The Demon Calling is a solid debut album that any industrial metal fan should get their greasy hands on soon. Even if you are not big on the industrial side of things, you may still like some of the stuff on the album, and its worth giving it a listen. Patrick Emmett, Metal Obsession
They didnt play their set for self-gratification, they played it to rip the crowd apart, and a circle pit for an opening band is a sure sign the crowd is getting it. Dana Treadwell, SF Media
