DAYVE OF THE DEAD Festival Line Up Announced

by

David Andreas and Phil Reed started throwing backyard mini-festivals together in January of this year to benefit the local music scene and give bands a place that they can get together with an appreciative audience and play without noise constraints and the limitations of typical venues. It’s no secret that the venues are favouring more indie, folk and laid back music these days, so we’re just trying to keep rock / punk / grunge / metal alive in any way we can.

Our first festival – Australia Dayve – was a two day event featuring eight bands from The Northern Rivers and The Gold Coast, but was unfortunately hampered by the ex-tropical cyclone Oswald, which tore the roof off the stage forcing the event into a nearby shed. Despite these challenges the punters carried on and the bands rocked out regardless.

The follow-up to Australia Dayve is the morbidly themed Dayve of the Dead, taking place on October 26 at the same venue. Fine weather is expected, and the venue will be a very large yard which can cater to up to three hundred people, with a chill-out space in the adjacent studio featuring local electronic artists. Other things that will be happening will be a half-pipe on location and some local street artists for interest’s sake.

The line-up is:

Main Stage Line-up (in no particular order)

Jamhog
The Snatchettes
Platinum Pen
Lighters Are Fluid
Substation
We Are Box
The Familiars
Skinwalkers
Bats vs. Snakes
Moans Like Lisa

Chill-out Room

Lucious Deed and the Bass Heavy DJ’s M_Phonik & Balance
DJ Mud
Lords of the Golden Horn

We are planning on continuing these festivals in the future to promote band awareness and keep the underground scene alive and kicking as much as we can.
