Broadside Release Debut Album Today, Premiere Music Video For ‘Playing In Traffic’
Richmond, VA five-piece BROADSIDE have released their debut album, Old Bones, today via Victory Records. Possessing a sound that mirrors the best of A Day To Remember, New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday and a hint of The Decendents, Old Bones is an eleven track collection of powerhouse anthems with explosive cadence. With this album in stores now, comes the brand new music video for Playing In Traffic.
This album took everything out of me and the guys both physically and mentally, bassist Josh Glupker recalls. We challenged ourselves as musicians and people, learning to play our instruments in new ways and exploring our own personal life experiences. We poured our hearts and souls into an album that we felt was genuine and rocked!
About the filming of their brand new video, Playing In Traffic, Glupker describes, “It was Chicago’s coldest day of the year, 2 degrees outside, and I froze my two nuts off.” Drummer Andrew Dunton agrees, Shooting this video was probably the coldest thing I have experienced. Now I know when shooting a video outside in the Chicago winter to bring gloves, socks, and a bottle of whiskey.”
Vocalist Ollie Baxxter explains the songs inspiration, Playing In Traffic is a direct message to anyone trying to belittle another person through their own social, physical or mental stance. I know tons of people trying to project an image because they fear embracing the person that they really are. Cowards, social ladder climbers, bullies both cyber and mental/physical. It’s throwing a giant stone at the glass image they project. Because no one is cooler or more important than anyone else based on their beliefs or circle of friends.
BROADSIDE will be performing songs from Old Bones on the Album Release Tour 2015, presented by Amerrickan. Starting June 28th, BROADSIDE and Old Again hit the road for their first round of dates.
